Widen Your Wings
Cultivating Women´s Empowerment and Vision
October 10–17, 2026 | Guatemala
From the sacred mountains of Juyu Ya’ to the crystalline waters and caves of Semuc Champey, this retreat is a pilgrimage into remembrance, empowerment, and sisterhood. This retreat is an inclusive space for all women who want to be supported in cultivating their vision.
From October 10th to the 14th, we will gather at Juyu Ya’ — the sacred Water Mountain sanctuary nestled in the mystical forests of Cerro Alux, Guatemala — where we will begin the deeper inner work through ceremony, healing practices, teachings, and intentional community.
On October 14th, we journey together to Semuc Champey to continue and anchor the work initiated at Juyu Ya’. There, surrounded by the living wisdom of water, caves, and ancient earth energies, we will spend two nights immersed in ritual, exploration, and transformation, including visits to the sacred caves of Lanquín and the groves of Rey Marcos. Every place on this journey has been chosen with intention, carrying teachings and medicine meant to awaken, strengthen, and guide us.

Sacred Destinations
The land is our great teacher

CUEVAS DE LANKIN
The Lanquín Caves invite us into the sacred womb of Mother Earth, a place where the wisdom of the heavens and the wisdom of the Earth meet. Surrounded by ancient stalactites descending from above and stalagmites rising from below, we will walk between the messages of Sky and Earth, receiving the teachings of the Heart of Heaven and the Heart of Earth. As the sun begins to set, we will witness thousands of bats emerging from the depths of the cave in a powerful dance of freedom and awakening. In the Maya tradition, Bat (Tz’ikin Batz’/Zotz’) is a sacred energy associated with transition, transformation, and the mysteries of rebirth. Just as the new day is announced by the arrival of night, this experience invites us to embrace the unknown, release old limitations, and awaken dormant gifts waiting to emerge. Entering this sacred cave is more than a visit—it is an initiation into deeper trust, intuition, and the courage to step into the next chapter of our becoming.

SEMUC CHAMPEY
Semuc Champey, whose name in the Q’eqchi’ Maya language means “where the river hides beneath the earth,” is one of Guatemala’s most sacred and breathtaking natural treasures. Here, the powerful Cahabón River disappears beneath a limestone bridge, while above it, a series of crystal-clear turquoise pools flow gently through the heart of the jungle. This magical meeting of hidden waters and living earth reminds us of the mysteries held within every woman—the unseen depths from which wisdom, intuition, creativity, and life itself emerge. Surrounded by the beauty and medicine of these waters, we are invited to reconnect with the sacred source within us and remember who we truly are. As we journey together from Juyu Ya’ into the waters of Alta Verapaz, Semuc Champey becomes more than a destination—it becomes a living altar for our transformation. Water is the first home of all life. Just as every human being begins in the waters of the womb, our gifts, dreams, leadership, and purpose are also born from an inner wellspring waiting to be awakened. Here, held by the embrace of Mother Earth and blessed by the living waters, we will honor the sacred feminine, awaken the unique gifts each woman carries, and remember the ancient wisdom that lives within us. In the sacred waters of Semuc, we will surrender what no longer belongs to us and allow ourselves to be carried by the great current of life. Together, we will emerge as daughters of the same waters, born anew from a shared womb, sisters bound not by blood but by spirit, woven into a tribe of remembrance. Rooted in belonging and nourished by the love of the circle, we will carry forward the courage to shine, to lead, to create, and to offer our gifts to the world. From this place of sisterhood, our dreams can take root, our gifts can blossom, and our leadership can emerge naturally in service to life. For when a woman knows she is not alone, when she knows she is held by her sisters and by the Earth herself, she becomes a force of life—radiant, fertile, and unstoppable. And like the hidden river beneath Semuc Champey, the gifts awakened here will continue to flow long after our journey ends, nourishing our families, our communities, and the generations yet to come.

GRUTAS DEL REY MARCOS
The Grutas del Rey Marcos will be the final sanctuary of our journey and the place where we seal the work we have begun together. Deep within these ancient caves, where sacred waters emerge from the heart of the Earth to nourish the world above, we will enter into stillness and meditation. Surrounded by the timeless dialogue between stone, water, darkness, and light, we will be invited to listen beyond our thoughts and into the living pulse of creation itself. In the profound darkness of the cave, we will encounter a deeper truth about the Divine Feminine. Here, she does not appear as fragile, passive, or merely gentle. She reveals herself as the immense creative force that births worlds, nourishes life, and sustains all existence. In the silence, we will hear the ancient groaning and cracking of Pachamama herself—the powerful voice of the Earth continually creating, transforming, and giving life. It is a sound that reminds us that true feminine power is not small; it is primordial, fierce, fertile, and unstoppable. This will be the place where we gather the medicine of our journey and carry it into the next chapter of our lives. Some women may leave pregnant with a new vision, a project, or a calling waiting to be born. Others may carry the renewed life force, clarity, and courage needed to bring fresh vitality to their gifts and leadership. All of us will leave knowing that we are part of a greater web of life, a sisterhood woven through love, purpose, and belonging. As we return to the world, we will carry within us the certainty that creation is already moving through us, seeking expression. Like the waters that rise from the depths of Rey Marcos, our dreams, gifts, and leadership will continue their journey toward manifestation, nourishing the communities, projects, and future generations we are here to serve. In this way, we become conscious participants in the birth of a new Earth—rooted in wisdom, guided by love, and empowered by the inexhaustible creative force of the Divine Feminine.

Purify
The Temazcal (from the Nahuatl word temazcalli, meaning “house of steam”) is an ancient Mesoamerican purification ceremony. .
We are pleased to provide you with the incredible opportunity to experience the ancient Mesoamerican ritual of a temazcal purification ceremony.
Traditionally built as a round, womb-like structure, it represents the living womb of Mother Earth—a sacred space where we return to the origins of life, to be cleansed, renewed, and reborn. Within this warm and protective embrace, heated volcanic stones are infused with water and medicinal herbs, creating the steam that carries the medicine of the ceremony. The Temazcal is far more than a steam bath. It is a ceremony of remembrance, release, and rebirth. Guided by Nan Vivi, we enter the sacred womb of Mother Earth, a dark and warm space where the distractions of the outside world dissolve and only truth remains. Heated volcanic stones, medicinal plants, prayer, song, drum, and rattles accompany us on a journey inward, inviting us to listen deeply to ourselves and to Life. As the pores of the skin open, we begin to sweat. Yet in ancestral understanding, we are more than a physical body. We are body, soul, and spirit. Therefore, what leaves us in the heat is not only water and minerals. The Temazcal invites the release of fear, grief, exhaustion, anger, old stories, inherited burdens, and all that no longer serves our highest path. The body releases, and the soul releases with it. Within the darkness of the womb, we pray, sing, and honor the Grandmothers, the Four Directions, and the sacred forces of Life. Through ceremony, the cleansing is amplified. The songs become a thread guiding us through the unknown. The drum becomes a heartbeat reminding us that we are held. The rattles become the voice of the ancestors, encouraging us to continue when we reach the edges of our comfort and certainty. The heat itself is medicine. It gently brings us to a threshold where the mind can no longer control every experience. In that surrender, something beautiful happens: the spirit rises. What begins as a challenge becomes a rite of passage. The old self softens. The old story loosens its grip. Something new begins to emerge. For women gathering to heal the feminine lineage, this journey holds even deeper meaning. Together, we enter the womb. Together, we release what is ready to be left behind. Together, we allow ourselves to be transformed. And together, we are reborn. When the door opens and light returns, we emerge not as the women who entered, but as women who have crossed a threshold. We leave behind what is old and step into a new relationship with ourselves, our gifts, our ancestors, and our future. Afterward, we are blessed with healing waters infused with sacred medicinal plants grown at Juyu Ya’ and carried through generations of Maya wisdom. Some plants offer protection, others beauty, others strength, clarity, sweetness, or spiritual cleansing. Their fragrance and medicine welcome us back into the world, embraced by the loving hands of the Earth. One of the greatest gifts of the Temazcal is that no woman walks out alone. Having shared the same womb, the same songs, the same prayers, and the same rebirth, we emerge as sisters. Sisters of the womb. Sisters of the heart. Spiritual sisters who will continue walking together long after the ceremony has ended. The Temazcal reminds us that transformation is not something we achieve. It is something we surrender to. And when we do, Life receives us anew.

Nuture and Awaken
Womb Massage
Mayan womb massage, also known as sobadas de matriz, is a non-invasive, external therapeutic technique that targets the abdomen, pelvic region, and lower back
We are privileged to receive care from Mayan Grandmother and Curandera, Nan Tomasa. During womb massage, she focuses on gently repositioning organs, enhancing lymphatic circulation, and releasing stored emotional or energetic tension. In this tradition, the womb is regarded as a physical, emotional, and energetic center.
Connection to the Sacral Chakra: The sacral chakra, known in Sanskrit as Svadhisthana, is the body's energetic center of creation, emotions, and intuition. It is located in the lower abdomen, within the womb space. When unprocessed emotions, past trauma, or physical restrictions cause congestion in the pelvis, the sacral chakra can become blocked, leading to creative blocks, guilt, shame, or physical pelvic tension. Mayan womb massage aids in clearing these blockages.
This sacred care is a blessing in every stage of life .

Nan Tomasita
Nan Tomasita Suy is a revered Maya K’iche’ Elder from Chichicastenango, Guatemala, whose life has been devoted to healing, service, and the preservation of ancestral wisdom. A sacred Fire Woman and Medicine Plant Woman, Nan Tomasita walks in intimate relationship with the living forces of nature. Through a gift cultivated over a lifetime, she listens deeply to the bodies of those who seek her help, understanding their pains, needs, and imbalances. She also listens to the plants themselves, receiving guidance about which medicines to use and how they should be prepared and applied for each person. Beyond the languages of Fire and Plant Medicine, Nan Tomasita speaks the language of love. With extraordinary tenderness and compassion, she heals the body, counsels the heart, and speaks directly to the soul. Her presence brings comfort, and her gentle touch has supported countless people through illness, grief, and transformation. Even in her advanced years, Nan Tomasita remains available to all who come knocking at her door in need. In Chichicastenango, she is sought after constantly, and it is common to find people waiting outside her clinic for the opportunity to receive her care and guidance. A true treasure of the Maya world, Nan Tomasita built her own healing clinic and educational center in Chichicastenango, where she shares traditional medicine and ancestral knowledge with future generations. Through immense dedication and perseverance, she raised eight children through her healing work, community service, and ceremonies. Today, three of her daughters also walk the path of ancestral healing as Maya Elders and Medicine Women, continuing the lineage of wisdom and service she has lovingly cultivated. Her healing hands are legendary among those who know her. Through traditional bodywork and abdominal massage, she restores balance, feels where pain is held within the body, and gently guides it outward. Many speak of the remarkable transformations they have experienced under her care, describing them as nothing short of miraculous. Nan Tomasita’s wisdom does not come from universities or formal institutions. It comes from direct relationship—with Spirit, Fire, Earth, the plants, and life itself. Her knowledge is rooted in sacred connection, intuition, devotion, and decades of service to her people. Those who know her often say that she can call the rain when it is needed. Whether understood literally, symbolically, or both, the saying captures something essential about her life: Nan Tomasita lives in profound relationship with the forces of nature and serves as a bridge between the visible and invisible worlds. She is a beloved healer, teacher, ceremonial guide, grandmother, and keeper of ancestral wisdom whose life continues to bless all who cross her path.

Vivian Baak
Vivian Baak, Mayan Spiritual Guide (or Ajq´ij in the Mayan Kaqchiquel language), master practitioner of Shamanic Energy Medicine, Medical Qi Gong Instructor, Acupuncturist, and Tantric Kriya Yoga practitioner. Author of “Find Peace and Heal” and “Sanando desde la Paz”. I help people rediscover the vast reservoir of compassion and love that exists within and around us, powerful enough to heal ourselves and support others on their healing journeys. I do this through retreats, workshops, personal therapies, counseling, fire ceremonies, shamanic initiations, Qi Gong classes, women’s circles, and more. The moments when I witness my patients and students transform—when their faces shift from despair, doubt, or sadness to hope, smiles, or tears of joy and peace—are what sparks my passion. These experiences drive me to keep learning, practicing, and allowing the medicine to flow through me. This work also nourishes my own healing, as I know from experience that I can only share what I embody, practice, and live each day. I believe in the delicate dance between love and perseverance, giving and receiving, embracing the new while honoring and integrating the old. The medicine is alive in me; I live what I preach and humbly continue to learn by walking this path. My tribe, those who are also committed to this journey, are pillars of my healing. I couldn’t do it without them. I have belonged to the Mayan Spiritual Guide's Council IQ Balam from Guatemala, since August of 2023. I completed the second level of Cobra Breath from Ipsalu Tantra Kriya Yoga International in 2023. I finished the Medicine Wheel training with the Four Winds Society Foundation in Chile in 2021. On September 2021, I was certified as Electro Acupuncturist by Asociación de la Unión Internacional de Medicinas Complementarias, located in Spain. I was certified as Luohan Qi gong Instructor by Lung Chuan Argentina in 2020. Both degrees were validated by HAGUE in 2021. I graduated from Law School in Marroquin University in Guatemala in 2002. I completed a Fashion Design degree in International Fine Arts College located in Florida in 1996 and I completed the same degree two years before in Scuola Della Moda in Florence, Italy in 1994. I finished high school in Guatemala City in 1992 at the age of 16. I speak Spanish, English and Italian, and I am in the process of learning the language of my Mayan ancestros Kaqchiquel.

Suzanne Wilcox
Suzanne Wilcox has been facilitating healing since 2012 when she became a certified Reiki practitioner, launching her into the arts of energy healing with Universal Life Force Energy, sound, crystals, and essential oils. In 2014 she expanded her practice to include Emotional Processing Technique so that she could help clients identify and release emotions that have been stored in the body. In 2015, while living in Paris, she encountered Le Jeu du Phénix, a game of philosophy created by French philosopher, Vincent Cespedes. This gift from the Universe set her on a new life course. She introduced the game to the English speaking world and immersed herself in living and teaching the principles of death and rebirth through the mystical, magical power of the Phoenix Game. In 2021, Suzanne was initiated into shamanic healing practices from the traditions of Peru. That experience ushered her into an ever-expanding awareness of higher dimensions that continues to enrich her spiritual life and gifts. She combines these healing skills in artful ways to bless the mind/body/spirit/soul. Highly intuitive, she partners with Spirit to guide her clients on a journey that facilitates transformation and rebirth so that they can shed what no longer serves them and feel supported in actualizing their highest, greatest destiny. It is often a surprise when one disconnects from the outcome and experiences free self inspiration. Perfect tone or voice is not required. Self discovery is encouraged.

Jarben Alejandro Cobin Cortez
Talented Chef Offerring delicious Nourishment
Jarben Alejandro Cobin Cortez, known to all as Alex, is a passionate young chef from San Lucas Tolimán, a beautiful town by Lake Atitlán in Guatemala. From a young age, he felt a deep calling for cooking, and with great effort and the support of his mother, he pursued his dream. His dedication earned him a scholarship to study in a larger city, where he refined his culinary skills. He later secured a job as a private chef for a family in Guatemala City, under the condition that he could continue his high school education while working. This family not only supported his studies but also introduced him to Chinese medicine, vegetarian cooking, and the deeper wisdom of food as a sacred practice. He learned that the energy of the chef is infused into every meal, and a loving heart can transform food into true nourishment for the body and soul. To further his expertise, the family also arranged for a professional chef with hotel experience to mentor him, refining his skills in new and unexpected ways. After graduating from high school, Alex returned to his hometown, determined to build his own path. He started a small catering business, providing food for events, and began raising chickens—feeding them naturally, as he believes in the power of food to create well-being. His connection to cooking goes beyond technique; it is an act of love, a way to share healing and joy with those he serves. Always carrying a warm smile, Alex is known for his passion, dedication, and kind heart, making him beloved by everyone he meets. His dream is to take his culinary talents beyond Guatemala, sharing his gifts with the world while continuing to grow as both a chef and a person of deep wisdom.
